In April, consumers will have another choice to fill their smartphone fix: the HTC One S, which is T-Mobile's first product to feature the latest version of Android, 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich.
T-Mobile is touting the device as its thinnest smartphone, at?7.95mm, with an aluminum unibody design that boasts a?4.3-inch super AMOLED qHD screen.
The One S is powered by a Qualcomm 1.5Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, supporting T-Mobile's HSPA+ 4G network.
The phone also incorporates some heavy-duty audio technology with Beats By Dr. Dre, integrating Beats Audio into all sound coming from the device, whether it's games, music or videos. It also comes pre-loaded?with Google Music.
But besides hearing some high-fidelity tunes, the One S also aims to please photo snappers on the go, with "Superfast Capture," with?"an estimated 0.7-second shot time and a 0.2-second autofocus that allows for nearly unlimited continuous shots," using an 8-megapixel lens, according to T-Mobile's release.
The phone has a dedicated imaging processing chip on the device, which not only helps with those speedy shots, but also with low lighting, with a f/2.0 lens that captures "40 percent more light than the f/2.4 lenses available on other high-end phones."
Like many newer point-and-shoot cameras, the One S also allows users to go back and forth between shooting 1080p HD video, and still photos.
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC also announced two other models in the HTC One line: the One X (with a 4.7-inch display and available on AT&T) and the One V (with a 5-megapixel camera).?
HTC One phones have also integrated Dropbox into HTC Sense 4, giving? buyers 25 gigabytes of free Dropbox space for two years, or more than 10,000 high-quality photos.
The Sense 4 platform is a UI layer on top of Android that provides some extra features that will clear up some of the widget-heavy clutter from earlier models. For instance, instead of going through several screens of contacts to make a call, a user can spell "Mom" and pull the number up. Tasks can also be synced, and notes integrated.
T-Mobile has not released any details on pricing or an exact date on the release.
